WILD SPACE
Wild Space isn't a specific regional designation, but instead refers to frontier regions of known space that have not been incorporated into organized
sectors. When galactic exploration was relatively new, the Slice and other peripheral areas near the Core were known as Wild Space. As the limits of
known space expanded, and former frontiers were absorbed into the interstellar civilization, areas that used to be Wild Space ceased to be wild, and
new areas which used to be Unknown Regions became poorly-known Wild Space. Most areas of Wild Space have known planets and local hyperspace
routes to them, but are usually poorly mapped or explored beyond that. Despite their remote locations, many planets in Wild Space and races which
originate there interact with the galactic civilization. Wild Space can be found at the periphery of known space in every quadrant of the galaxy. Worlds
seen, mentioned, or inferred in canon which lie within Wild Space, and canon races which originate there, are sorted here by galactic position:
West of the New Territories Region
East of the Trans-Hydian Region
East of the Slice Region and Hutt Space
South of the Trailing Sectors Region
West of the Western Reaches Region
