THE EXPANSION REGION
The Expansion Region is an extension of the Inner Rim, as the name suggests, and is the beginning of the 'Galactic Exterior' that extends beyond
the Outer Rim. The Expansion Region was originally known as the Expansion Rim, back when the Inner Rim was called simply the Rim. The Expansion
Region was colonized by the Core in different eras in different regions, as the circular territories in the Rim are vast regions encompassing sectors
which are in different quadrants of the galaxy. Along with the Inner Rim, the Expansion Region was first settled in the later stages of early exploration,
and mostly integrated into Core civilization during the galactic middle ages. It is a somewhat populated region, and reasonably developed, however
due to its history as a frontier region heavily exploited for resources, there is a great deal of corporate control, rule by distant authorities, and less
regional independence than in Core regions. Despite this, the region eventually became prosperous, and societies developed as the region became
the outpost of Core civilization during further expansion into the Rim. Many worlds of the Expansion Region were homeworlds of sentient races,
some of which were colonized by Human or other interstellar species, while other more advanced societies were eventually absorbed into the Core
civilization's sphere of influence. While many useful planets in most parts of the Expansion Region are settled, there are many useful or habitable
worlds in the region with little to no population. Some of the populated worlds in the region are highly-developed, have significant populations,
and have existed long enough to be well-established societies. The charting of the Hydian Way increased the importance of this region in later history.

The Negs
The Negs region in the Expansion Region is a territorial and historical extension of that region in the Core and Colonies. The organized region of the Negs is relatively
small, defined by a border roughly parallel to the Namadii Corridor in the east, and has an ill-defined border in the west, where Wild Space and the Unknown
Regions begin, and few hyperspace routes are established. No worlds seen, mentioned, or inferred thus far in canon lie within the Negs in the Expansion Region.

The Northern Dependencies
The Northern Dependencies region in the Expansion Region is a territorial and historical extension of that region in the Core, Colonies, and Inner Rim. The Northern
Dependencies in the Expansion Region is a settled region containing colony worlds with Humans and others, as well as homeworlds of other races. It was integrated
into Core civilization during the galactic middle ages. The Northern Dependencies is defined strictly by the Vaathkree Trade Corridor in the east, and roughly by
the Namadii Corridor in the west, containing worlds on along both sides of that hyperspace route. The development of the Hydian Way led to the easternmost
worlds of the Northern Dependencies being reorganized into a new galactic region known as the Trans-Hydian or Borderlands region. Worlds seen, mentioned,
or inferred in canon which lie within the Northern Dependencies in the Expansion Region, and canon races which originate there:
Planet Dorin Planet Shili Planet Kiros

Star Wars Kel Dor Star Wars Togruta

The Trans-Hydian (Borderlands)
The Trans-Hydian region in the Expansion Region was historically the easternmost part of the Northern Dependencies. The development of the Hydian Way in
the later stages of galactic exploration led to the reorganization of a new galactic region known as the Trans-Hydian, informally known as the Borderlands region.
Unlike many portions of the Trans-Hydian region, the part in the Expansion Region was well-settled and developed during the early and middle stages of
interstellar history due to its proximity to the Perlemian Trade Route, and its relatively small size. It was integrated into Core civilization early in the galactic
middle ages. The Trans-Hydian region is defined strictly by the Perlemian Trade Route in the south, and in the northwest by the boundary of the Ploo Sector.
Worlds seen, mentioned, or inferred in canon which lie within the Trans-Hydian in the Expansion Region, and canon races which originate there:
Planet Ploo 2 Planet Ploo 4 Planet Thisspias Planet Sermeria

The Slice
The Slice region in the Expansion Region is a territorial and historical extension of that region in the Colonies and the Inner Rim, and is heavily colonized by
Humans and Core civilizations, but contains a great number of indigenous homeworlds. The portion of the Slice in the Expansion Region is moderately
populated and developed, however settled worlds are usually not as densely clustered. The region was gradually absorbed into the civilization of the Core
during the middle ages in galactic history, and younger and middle-aged colonial societies, as well as ancient local ones. The Slice is strictly defined in the north
by the Perlemian Trade Route, including worlds which lie along that hyperspace route, and in the south by the Corellian Run, including worlds which lie along
that hyperspace route. As a result, this was among the first region of the Expansion Region to be heavily colonized. Worlds seen, mentioned, or inferred
in canon which lie within the Slice in the Expansion Region, and canon races which originate there:
Planet Umbara Planet Mimban Planet Pasaana Planet Iktotch

Star Wars Aki Aki Star Wars Iktotchi Star Wars Mimbanese Star Wars Umbaran

The Trailing Sectors
The Trailing Sectors region in the Expansion Region is a territorial and historical extension of that region in the Inner Rim. The portion of the Trailing Sectors
in the Expansion Region was well explored and settled during the early and middle periods of galactic history, and contains many Core colony worlds, along
with some indigenous homeworlds. Development and settlement increased significantly during the later periods of galactic history, with the charting of
the Hydian Way. The Trailing Sectors in the Inner Rim were absorbed into the civilization of the Core in the middle part of interstellar history, and contains
some well-established worlds with significant populations. The Trailing Sectors are strictly defined by the Corellian Run in the east, and roughly by the Rimma
Trade Route in the west, containing worlds on along both sides of that hyperspace route. Worlds seen, mentioned, or inferred in canon which lie within
the Trailing Sectors in the Expansion Region, and canon races which originate there:
Planet Kerkoidia Planet Ropagi 2 Planet Stobar

Star Wars Kerkoiden Star Wars Ropagu

The Western Reaches
The Western Reaches in the Expansion Region is a territorial and historical extension of that region in the Inner Rim. The portion of the Western Reaches in
the Inner Rim was a remote region for most of its history, and contains more local homeworlds and non-Human colonies than Core colony worlds. The region
was developed and colonized to some extent during the founding of the Rimma Trade Route in the galactic middle ages. While initially a frontier, the region
has been well integrated into Core civilization, and contains many influential planets. The Western Reaches is defined by a border roughly parallel to the Rimma
Trade Route in the east, and has an ill-defined border in the west, where Wild Space and the Unknown Regions begin, and few hyperspace routes are established.
Worlds seen, mentioned, or inferred in canon which lie within the Western Reaches in the Expansion Region, and canon races which originate there:
