InterGalactic Banking Clan

The InterGalactic Banking Clan was one of the galactic trade guilds officially franchised by the Senate. The Banking Clan was a centrally-controlled conglomerate of
interplanetary banks, creditors, and financial institutions. The core of this institution developed during the galactic middle ages, thousands of years before the era
of the Clone Wars. It was created to regulate and develop uniform transactions between economies in the Core and those in the Outer Rim, through the currency
known as the galactic standard credit. As a result of this, its reach grew significantly throughout Republic history into the chaotic age leading up to the formation of
the last Republic, and by the 70th century (1000 BBY) it controlled the majority of the financial industry in the galaxy. The Banking Clan would gradually monopolize
Republic banking, and used its power and influence to expand into unrelated industries, control entire starsystems, and even conduct intergalactic business in
the nearby satellite dwarf galaxies. The Clan competed with the Corporate Alliance for direct influence over new territories in the galactic north and the remote
Tingle Arm. The Banking Clan was founded on Muunilinst, and was inexorably linked to the Muun government there and on the many Muun colony worlds in
the New Territories of the Outer Rim. The Muun colony planet of Scipio was directly controlled by the Banking Clan, and eventually became their headquarters and
the site of their main vault. The organization remained heavily located on Muunilinst, as well as other prominent worlds they controlled such as Mygeeto, or held
influence on, such as Aargau. There were no doubt many other planets with significant Banking Clan presence, facilities, or members. The Banking Clan also
maintained a network of spacestations used as supply depots, transfer stations, and operations centers, mostly located in the Rim regions.

The I.G. Banking Clan was dominated by members of the Muun race. The leader of the Banking Clan was Chairman San Hill, who became their
representative on the Separatist Council during the Clone Wars. Later in the Clone Wars, the Banking Clan was led by Clu Lesser and the others
of the Core Five. Mak Plain was their charge d'affaires on Coruscant.

The Banking Clan was represented in the Galactic Senate by Rush Clovis before and during the first year of the Clone Wars, succeeded by Nix Card.
In the early days of the Empire, the Banking Clan was represented in the Imperial Senate by Gani Riduli.

The Banking Clan's defection to the Separatists during the Clone Wars led to the bulk of their material resources being committed to those conflicts. Their official
neutrality in the war and the duplicity of their leaders eventually led to crisis whereby the Supreme Chancellor took direct control over the organization. When he
became Emperor, the Banking Clan remained in power but under his direct control. Some subsidiaries of the Banking Clan included the Bank of Aargau, the Corellian
Chemical Corporation, Dynamic Synergetics Incorporated, Hunvicko, Ryloth Vent, Sartran Corporation, and Telex-Delcor. Near the end of the Clone Wars, bankrupt
Republic Sienar Systems became a subsidiary of the IGBC as Sienar Fleet Technologies, also called Sienar Fleet Systems:

Sienar Fleet Technologies
Republic Sienar Systems was a subsidiary of the Techno Union, and is shown here on that page. The company went bankrupt during the Clone Wars,
and subsequently became a subsidiary of the Banking Clan. After the war, with the Banking Clan absorbed into the Imperial apparatus, Sienar
Fleet Tech and its flagship corporation Sienar Fleet Systems became nationalized semi-private entities within the Empire. Sienar Systems was
still led by the powerful Sienar family, and at that time by Raith Sienar, an engineer with ties to the Imperial inner circle. Sienar Fleet Tech and
its subsidiaries were major manufacturers of military equipment for the Empire, specializing in starcraft, arms, stardrives, and cutting edge
technology. The mega-corporation was the primary manufacturer of components for the Death Star projects, and worked alongside
Kuat Drive Yards and the Imperial Military to construct both battlestations. Some subsidiaries of Sienar Fleet Technologies included
Sienar Fleet Systems, Sienar Advanced Systems, Sienar Ships, Sienar Design Systems, Sienar Intelligence Systems, Sienar Army Systems,
Curich Engineering, and Santhe Passenger and Freight. Known products of the Sienar Fleet Tech:
