CONTINUITY
'Entombed' and 'Tribe' are stand-alone episodes. 'The Clone Conspiracy' and 'Truth an Consequences' from a single storyline about
the clones and Kamino. Skara Nal and an unidentified planet are seen for the first time. Five worlds are seen in these episodes:

These episodes take place in the second half of 7959 (18 BBY), based on their relative position in time to 'The Outpost' (S2E12) near the end of that year.

- Phee has been to "too many" uncharted planets to count them, something that is probably very unusual but indicates just how common such planets
still are despite millennia of exploration, mapping, and improvements in hyperdrive travel. The more ancient a planet's civilization or settlement,
the greater the likelihood that it has become uncharted, unless it remained an active part of interstellar civilization. A great many other planets
are not currently or have never been seriously inhabited, and no doubt a large number of these were never put on charts or became forgotten
by mapmakers over time. Most of these planets lie within well-traveled and long-established galactic sectors.
Main Article: Hyperspace Travel

- Skara Nal is a terrestrial planet located in the Kaldar trinary starsystem, in a region of the galaxy which has not yet been identified. The planet has one
moderately-sized moon, a breathable atmosphere, and a native ecosystem. Its stark ecosystem is the product of the gravitational forces and
unique patterns of light as a consequence of orbiting three stars. The state of the surface in the region seen in these events is the result of
having been "razed and left uninhabitable" in ancient times by the giant walker that was buried there. An advanced, technological civilization
existed on this world over 25,000 years earlier, but it was ultimately destroyed by its own advancements. The planet subsequently became
forgotten after the destruction of its civilization, and did not appear on standard starcharts. There is a food chain involving large predatory
animals still in existence in the devastated region, suggesting that there is some form of vegetation or similar source of energy on Skara Nal.

Is Skara Nal the name of the planet or the name of the location where the walker is found? Supplementary material
created for this episode seems to identify the planet as Skara Nal, however it is somewhat dubious. When they reach
the door to where the giant walker was housed, Phee says "we are standing in the entrance way to Skara Nal", which
seems to imply that Skara Nal is a location on this planet. Disney SW often has cities on planets with the same name,
and tends to equate most planets with a single location, however in this case it could be the result of the antiquity of
this planet's civilization. Phee says that "every pirate out there's heard the legend of Skara Nal" and that "it traces
back to the ancients." Skara Nal may have been the name of their planet, but since this door seems to be the only
remains of their civilization, it may be a simple matter of conflation. The particular location where the door is found
probably had a specific name in that civilization, however at this point the only name still remembered is Skara Nal.

- The civilization which was prominent on Skara Nal is referred to as "the Ancients", a description widely used for those who were already advanced
when most of the races currently dominating the galaxy were not yet spacefaring. This name is used in part because the actual name of many
of these races and civilizations is not known. The ancient structures on Skara Nal are older than the Jedi, meaning this civilization was active
more than 27,000 years prior to the 'modern' era of the films and shows, and predates the last Galactic Republic by almost as much time.

- The giant walker on Skara Nal is a highly-advanced, automated battle system using technology and weapons far advanced of the current, interstellar
society's level of engineering. This weapon, and possibly others like it, effectively ended civilization on this planet, but it was ultimately subdued.
It was subsequently kept inactive by a crystal referred to as "the heart of the mountain", hidden away, and left protected by booby traps. It stands
to reason that this was done by the surviving members of the civilization that created it. A compass was created so that it could be found again.

- The development of life, technology, and civilization are evolutionary, nevertheless the nature of the universe is cyclical rather than linear. As a result,
even though the events of SW are said to take place "a long time ago" the civilization involved in the stories is far more advanced than our current
Human civilization on Earth. This cycle of development presumably is seen in all galaxies across the universe, and is part of the history of any planet,
where at many points older civilizations were more advanced than their successors. The particular civilization on Skara Nal reached one possible
developmental dead end, in that it created superpowerful automated weapons in a quest for dominance which subsequently destroyed their
creators. The futility and danger of the desire to create superweapons of enormous destructive power is a central theme of Lucas' SW trilogies.

- The Kingdom of Vadnay was a regional state of some notoriety which existed in the galaxy "over a millennium ago." This places its prominence during
the dark ages which bridged the last incarnation of the Old Republic with the Republic familiar to SW films and shows. That dark age lasted for
about 500 years from around 6500 (1477 BBY) until 6967 (1010 BBY), however the exact beginning of this historical era is ill-defined. It was this
time frame in which the Old Republic's deteriorating condition led to a gradual recession of its power over the Rim, which after hundreds of
years had largely relegated its direct control to parts of the Core and the central regions of the galaxy. The majority of the galaxy was increasingly
under the control of regional alliances, petty fiefdoms, and competing autocracies, one of which was apparently the Kingdom of Vadnay.

- The spacestation controlled by Vanguard Axis orbits an unidentified planet located at some unspecified location in the galaxy. This planet has at least
one moon, and appears to be a habitable world with a rocky surface and ample water, both in the atmosphere and in seas and lakes on its
surface. The existence of an orbiting facility heavily implies that the planet is or was inhabited, but does not definitively prove that.

Who built the spacestation used by Vanguard Axis, what was its purpose, and why is this criminal organization allowed
to operate freely at a fixed point in orbit and in plain sight? Orbital facilities are rarely built over uninhabited locations,
for a number of reasons most notably the practical purpose of a station and the difficulty of construction. The major
exception to this would be large, interstellar powers with huge financial resources and construction potential, such as
the Republic, the Empire, or one of the large galactic trade guilds which used to control unofficial empires with holdings
throughout the galaxy. It is not impossible for a planetary government, a single corporation, or private organization of
some kind to have constructed a spacestation in an uninhabited starsystem, however the expense and difficulties of
construction under such conditions make it impractical in most scenarios. Putting that possibility aside, the planetary
politics of any planet established enough to produce a spacestation make it unlikely that a known criminal element
would be casually allowed to construct and operate a station with impunity, unless that organization had significant
influence or control over the surface society. It can be assumed that this cargo transfer station was originally built to
facilitate legal trade, and that Vanguard Axis gained control of it during the instability of the Clone Wars. Exactly how
this transpired, and exactly why no one has done anything about it in the interim, can only be speculated about.

- Vanguard Axis is a minor criminal organization "notorious for illegal smuggling" and notable in that it is led by and composed of droids. Its leaders and
members are an unidentified model of administrative droids with a sufficiently advanced intelligence to take the level of initiative needed to form
a criminal organization with no organic beings involved. Exactly how the lead droids arrived at this purpose is uncertain, and could be a result of
deliberate reprogramming or an unusual emergent droid personality caused by experience. In either case, the 'desire' to earn wealth or power for
one's self runs contrary to the essential droid purpose of serving, and the inherent fulfillment droids get from performing their designed functions.
Main Article: Droid Intelligence

- Tech was able to forge counterfeit chain codes which will successfully fool the Empire's systems. This is only possible for someone of sufficient technical
skill, which is why Vanguard Axis was willing to pay a respectable price for them.

- Gungi was last seen over a year and a half earlier in The Clone Wars 'The Wrong Jedi' (S5E20), at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant engaged in lightsaber
training with a class of students taught by Master Sinube. He had "been on the run since Order 66, and was attempting to reach the Wookiee
homeworld of Kashyyyk before he was captured" by Vanguard Axis. This proved fortunate, since the Axis was more interested in his value as
a Wookiee slave than his Jedi nature. The Axis leader seemed to be planning to keep his lightsaber.

When were the Bad Batch on Kashyyyk during the Clone Wars? These events were part of an unfinished storyline for
the final seasons of The Clone Wars which began development but was never completed. It was intended to take place
about midway through 7958 (19 BBY), however since Echo is included in the Batch and the events which led him to join
the unit have been moved to about one week before Episode III, those episodes either have to be rewritten to be released
and made canon, or if left in their intended, original format to be set in the week between Echo joined the team and
Episode III. This would mean that Yoda was on Kashyyyk with the Bad Batch during those events, returned to Coruscant,
only to head back to Kashyyyk after a larger droid army began a larger invasion. This would be unlikely, but is the only way
the original story would work after disney-Lucasfilm's structuring of Season 7. If that storyline is never produced, and
Echo is assumed not to have been part of the team at the time, the Batch's visit to Kashyyyk could have been much earlier
in the war. If disney-Lucasfilm had produced the full run of unfinished episodes in approximate order to their production
codes, then that story would have worked, but they instead only produced 3 of the final 10 storylines for Season 7.

- Kashyyyk was last seen in Episode III which was about 8 to 10 months earlier, where an invading droid army attacked the capital which was defended by
the Jedi, Republic clones, and local Wookiee forces. Order 66 was issued during that battle, which subsequently led to the clones turning against
many of the Wookiees who stood against the betrayal of their Jedi allies. Imperial plans to dehumanize the Wookiees and devastate their planet
apparently began immediately after the Imperial era began, with Wookiee's already being captured and enslaved, wide-scale devastation of Wookiee
settlements, and environmentally-careless exploitation of resources. The Empire has added insult to injury by partnering with Trandoshans, traditional
rivals of the Wookiee's who come from the neighboring planet in the same starsystem, amongst whom are many who enjoy dominating, hunting,
and slaughtering Wookiees, and who prize their pelts and other body parts as trophies.

- Lightsabers are easily identified by average people, and instantly identifies their owner as a Jedi, or at least draws interest at someone possessing such a rare
and noted weapon. Jedi aren't safe anywhere at this time, due to the ongoing manhunt, the large bounty being offered, and public fear regarding them.
Main Article: Awareness of the Jedi and the Sith

- The Wookiees apparently artistically carve stones for some culturally significant purpose, possibly as a form of art connected to their spiritual beliefs or
practices, or possibly as grave markers or other memorials. The Trandoshans are destroying them out of malice and contempt.

- The large, spider-like creatures are identified as netcasters, despite being somewhat different from the netcasters as described in the legendary material from
which they originate. It is unclear why the changes to their physiology and comportment were made, as the differences had little effect on the story.
The mylaya are the large, cat-like creatures the Wookiees ride. These were invented by Dave Filoni, with some creative direction from George Lucas.

- Although Gungi was sighted by Imperial troops and Trandoshans working for the Empire, all who saw him were subsequently killed. The commander
had ordered them not to report in, intending to claim the Jedi Wookiee himself, thus the Empire will not be searching for Gungi.

- 79's Bar, the so-called "clone bar" on Coruscant, was last seen about a year and a half earlier in The Clone Wars 'Orders' (S6E4).

- Gani Riduli is the new Senator for the Banking Clan, who replaces Nix Card who had been an ally of Sidious. This may have been part of Palpatine's
purge of loose ends from the Clone Wars and prior, as Card certainly knew something of Sidious' manipulations, however since Card's fate
after the Clone Wars is unknown, this cannot be ascertained. It is more likely that the appointment of a Riduli, an Ishi Tib, reflects the fact
that the Banking Clan is now directly controlled by Palpatine, rather than the Muuns who had traditionally dominated that organization.
The Ishi Tib were until recently most associated with the Techno Union, however the Emperor's control over banking represents a break with
the clannish history of the guilds, and his directorate over banking is likely composed of individuals from many races. As a result, members of
the Banking Clan leadership, or other organizations formerly dominated by one group, are more likely to be from any race in the Empire.

- The Senator from Castell is not named in supplementary material or the credits, which is surprising considering she has several lines of dialogue. This
character is identified in the credits as "Commerce Guild Senator", which should not be the case as that organization no longer existed after
the Clone Wars ended. This Senator is a Gossam, which the creators successfully identified would probably have been the Commerce Guild's
Senator. The Commerce Guild leadership was dominated by the Gossams, and their Senator in the Separatist Parliament was a Gossam.
The issue here is that one of the minor, unspoken points of what is shown in Episode III was that the vast economic powers whose corruption
plagued the Republic were destroyed by the end of the Clone Wars. Sidious used them for his purposes while simultaneously organizing their
downfall, thus removing them as an obstacle to his centralized control. They were the greatest powers in the galaxy besides the Jedi Order, and
the purpose of the war was to neutralize all threats to Sith domination of the galaxy. The Order 66 montage in Episode III shows planets
which were either the headquarters of one of the galactic trade guilds, or a planet of great importance to them, emphasizing that they were
being eliminated along with the Jedi. The exceptions to this were the Banking Clan, whose loyal components had already been nationalized by
Sidious' machinations near the end of the war, and placed under Palpatine's direct rule, and the Corporate Alliance, which still provided a useful
organizational structure for the Empire to dominate, and which was less of a centralized power than the galactic trade guilds. The other three
guilds, the Techno Union, Trade Federation, and Commerce Guild, were eliminated as organizations, and their components were nationalized,
parceled off, or broken into separate entities. This Senator must therefore represent the planet Castell, or possibly another Gossam planet.
It was likely the case that the Senator from Castell had previously represented the Commerce Guild, as Castell had been a principal member.

- The Defense Recruitment Bill is the motion to authorize the enlistment of regular citizens as soldiers, with the intention of phasing out the clones from
the military. It has been "discussed, debated, and tabled each session", as was previously mentioned. Its opponents argue that militarization is
unnecessary given that the war is over, and given the need to rebuild from the devastation of the war. They also argue that "a military of citizens
swearing loyalty" goes against the fundamental principles of the Empire's supposed democracy. The proponents of this measure argue that
the need for troops is most pressing, considering the security-based goals of the Empire and the precarious state of the Imperial program in
the Rim, where Separatist holdouts and republican loyalists are already mounting insurgencies. They correctly observe that the clone army
cannot be sustained "given their accelerated aging" now that younger generations of clones will not be produced to replace them. This ignores
that there should be about 9-years-worth of younger clone generations still in the Empire's possession, having moved them off of Kamino,
however this is probably not widely-known considering that it would indicate the Empire had planned the destruction of Kamino. They also
argue that "a new conscripted military is what this galaxy needs" as it will be "comprised of the people, who fight for the people."

- Senator Tynnra Pamlo is the new representative from the planet Taris in the Imperial Senate. She first appeared in Rogue One, set 18 years later, while
this is her earliest appearance chronologically. Taris had been represented by Kin Robb during the Clone Wars, who was a political ally of Padme
and Bail Organa and who had been part of the Council of Neutral Systems. Taris was one of the neutral systems during the war. When Pamlo
states that the war is over, Senator Riduli replies "perhaps where you reside, Senator Pamlo, but the Mid and Outer Rims are rife with insurgents."
This is another example of poor research by this episode's creators, or it is an indication of Riduli's stupidity, since Taris is located in the Outer Rim.

- The "Mid and Outer Rims are rife with insurgents", an accurate assessment of the first year and a half of Imperial rule, a period sometimes referred to
as the 'Reconquest of the Rim'. Although the fighting had continued, there was no organizational structure to the Empire's opponents, and these
battles are not considered to be part of the Clone Wars but instead the early phases of resistance to the Empire which would continue throughout
Imperial rule, eventually giving rise to the Rebellion and ultimately the Rebel Alliance. The extent of this anti-Imperial activity is not widely publicized
by the Empire which wishes to maintain public confidence in its strength and authority, however the fact that "insurgent groups that keep popping
up" is common knowledge amongst the clones , and Imperial officers will confess privately that "the murmurs of rising threats and insurgency are
more than rumors." These rise of these insurgencies was predicted and foreseen by the Emperor, who intended to use them to political advantage
and to further his plans, however as their numbers are growing faster than expected, the Emperor is concerned and eager to deal with the matter.

- The Emperor participates in Senate procedures as little as possible, and only when it suits his purposes. He lets Mas Amedda and his Senate allies steer
the course of debate and further their agenda. This continues his practice as Chancellor of always giving the appearance of being a disinterested
servant of the Senate unless his voice was needed to sway the discussion, the difference is that now he doesn't show himself often, even if he is in
the building during the debate. The Emperor "trusts this delegation to act in the best interests of all galactic citizens", which means he trusts that his
allies dominate enough of the Senate to keep his agenda moving forward without his direct leadership. This not only increases the appearance of
democracy and due process, it makes his occasional appearances all the more pointed, increasing the impact of his direct leadership

Riyo Chuchi is the Senator from Pantora, despite having been replaced by Chi Eekway Papanoida a year earlier as seen in
Episode III. This is certainly yet another of dozens of examples of disney SW creators ignoring the specific details and
supplementary material of the prequels in general and Episode III specifically, getting things almost right while still
managing to introduce continuity errors. Chuchi was brought back because she is an established character and liked by
the creators, even though this once again ignores the whole concept of developmental change in the stories. As usual
in disney SW, the creators simply chose to revert characters and situations to an earlier state to make their 'creative'
process easier, such as when they ignore the destruction of the trade guilds at the end of the Clone Wars, intending to
preserve well-thought-out Lucas concepts beyond their time, such that they do not have to figure out intelligently what
the logical historical progression would have been. Nevertheless, this is not a definite error since it could be explained
in some ways that aren't totally unlikely. It has been seen that some Senate delegations have more than one Senator, or
a Senator and other Representatives, so it is possible they are both serving at this point. That is less likely considering that
Papanoida is not seen here, however it is also possible that she only served for a year before being replaced by Chuchi,
such as her assignment having been temporary to cover for Chuchi being absent, her being recalled for political reasons,
or her having her own personal reasons for having to step back. She may also have been arrested for her prominent
position as a Palpatine critic who helped Padme organize the Petition of the Delegation of 2000 which tried to remove
the Chancellor's expanded powers just before the war ended. It is unlikely that any of these implications were considered.

- Vice Admiral Rampart is included in the Senate meeting and allowed to speak on the Imperial military's behalf. This does seem somewhat out-of-place
considering that he is not a particularly high-ranking Admiral, however since the clone factories on Kamino and Project War-Mantle are both his
direct purview under Moff Tarkin's authority this appearance makes sense. Rampart's brazen approaches indicate the confidence he has in
the strength of his position, however his position is nonetheless highly tenuous despite his not having been responsible for any serious setbacks.
His anxiety about his superiors' intolerance of failure have already led him to commit serious crimes to cover his minor mistakes, which only
leaves him more vulnerable to punishment if eventually found out. He is told directly at this point that he will "suffer" if he fails to get the bill
passed, and warned in advance that he will be "at risk" if the truth about Kamino is discovered by the Senate.

- Once a clone has completed the required number of rotations, the Empire declares them obsolete. This would seem to be a period of 4 to 5 years,
considering that clones are already being retired. These clones would be biologically in their mid-30s based on their accelerated aging.
The clone army is not sustainable given this factor without the clone factories still in production, however the loss of the factories should
mean 9 more generations were already in progress. This should have given the clone army 4 or 5 more years of viability. The clone named
Slip is identified as CT-0409, and was not an officer and served in the Navy. This number should indicate he was a very early clone who has
been in service for the entire war. As a result, it is extremely unlikely he would not have been made an officer by virtue of experience, and yet
he is not identified as such. It is likely that his birth number of 0409 is an abbreviation of a longer, full identification number, which is
the explanation previously offered by The Clone Wars material as to why almost all known clones have numbers less than 10000.

- The majority of the Kaminoan population was lost, and the Imperial attack on Kamino "didn't just affect the cloning facilities" but also "wiped out entire
cities." This statement of the death toll and the use of the plural indicate that more than Tipoca City was destroyed in the attack, despite the visual
evidence to the contrary in the Season 1 finale, but does support the implications of the dialogue in that storyline. At the same time, the "majority"
of billions of Kaminoans suggests that many thousands may still be alive, even somewhere on Kamino. Senator Burtoni indicates that "the few
remaining Kaminoans scattered throughout the galaxy", indicating that a potential future revival is in question despite there being many survivors.

- Rex was last seen about 7 to 9 months earlier in 'Battle Scars' (S1E7). He has risked coming to Coruscant as part of his efforts to protect and organize clones
who are wanted by the Empire or otherwise oppose it in some way. He has only had limited success up to this point because "troopers who know too
much are a liability to the Empire." Rex is working with "a few contacts" he trusts, but his organization is "spread pretty thin." He also notes what has
become increasingly common knowledge amongst the clones and Imperial officers, that "more and more of our brothers are waking up to what's been
done to them." He is using the Martez sisters' garage as a safe house, and seems to know something about their whereabouts. This seems to indicate
that Rex is their primary contact in anti-Imperial efforts, rather than Ahsoka who must have introduced them, as implied in 'Decommissioned' (S1E6).

- Rex sends the Batch "a flight plan to bypass Imperial security and coordinates to a safe landing zone" in order to allow them to arrive on Coruscant undetected.
This is possible on Coruscant with the right knowledge and methods, in part because of the massive minute to minute traffic in the skies over the planet.
This is also an indication of limitations of planetary scanning systems, even when augmented by numerous ships and various scanners located in orbit.
Main Article: Scanners, Sensors, and Cloaking Devices

- Admiral Rampart's destroyer is "being retrofitted" at the Imperial shipyard on Coruscant. This probably includes minor technological upgrades which were
incrementally installed even during the Republic, and may include new Imperial upgrades to security systems as well as cosmetic alterations.

- The Empire's current procedures on Coruscant dictate that no one can enter the Senate district without an Imperial security clearance.

- Omega's conversation with Chuchi regarding the clones "representation in the Senate" correctly indicates that the clones have limited rights as they are
considered property of the state, however it is misleading since the clones would not have a Senate seat even if they had rights. Senate seats are
allotted exclusively to the capital planet of a oversector, with a maximum exception of about a dozen seats which might be allotted to significant
organizations like the trade guilds in the Republic era. The number of member planets with large populations who do not get a direct seat in
the Senate is something like 23,000, so no group in the galaxy as insignificant as the millions of clones would ever be awarded such a powerful
position in galactic politics. The clones were represented by Kamino when that world was allotted a seat during the Clone Wars, however as
Chuchi correctly implies, the Kaminoans regarded them with even less concern than the Republic, and did not represent their interests per se.

- Halle Burtoni was the former senator for Kamino during the Clone Wars, and had been part of the Defense Finance Committee prior to being removed
from office. She was last seen in The Clone Wars 'Senate Murders' (S2E15), having been arrested for crimes she did not commit, however she
would have been almost immediately cleared of those charges and released. Those events took place at the very end of 7956 (21 BBY), and
it was uncertain if Burtoni had continued in the Senate beyond that year. Supplementary material connected to this episode seems to imply that
her removal from office came shortly after the transition to the Empire, in which case she would have remained in the Senate until the end of
the war. It also suggests that her removal was a direct result of her suspicious positions regarding Imperial intentions. She recognized that everyone
is expendable to the Empire, that its next move would be to eliminate them, and that Lama Su was arrogant to believe the Empire needed them.

- Palpatine continues to play the part of principled politician who respects the democratic process and principles, who seeks to do what is best for
the galaxy and its citizens. He continues to express sympathies with opposition Senators whenever they gain any traction on an issue, which
prevents the perception that he is intractable and unwilling to heed Senate leadership. Rampart has been set up to take the fall for advancing
his plans concerning Kamino and other crimes, and Palpatine uses him as the champion of the Defense Recruitment Bill to ensure the atrocity
at Kamino is discovered by the Senate at the right time to use it for political advantage and get the bill passed. The truth about Kamino could
be successfully twisted into justification for his new army of stormtroopers, as he "wanted to implicate Rampart to get what he was after all
along." Senator Chuchi correctly notes that "Palpatine was one step ahead of us during the war, and he's still several steps ahead of us."

ANALYSIS
Kashyyyk targeted for destruction for its loyalty to the Republic and its ideals, both in regard to self-determination and their nature-based religion
which complimented that of the Jedi. The timing the Separatist invasion and subsequent Battle of Kashyyk was an important part of the Sith plans,
as Kashyyyk was amongst the loyal Republic worlds which Sidious had recognized in advance would be too devoted to republican ideology and too
loyal to the Jedi to accept Imperial rule. Such planets were targeted for devastation during the Clone Wars, but the most threatening were only dealt
with near the end of the conflict, so that they would have no time to recover and so that strong clone forces were in place to enforce the subsequent
occupation. The Empire deals with the Wookiees by 'dehumanizing' them and treating them as an inferior lifeform, while simultaneously devastating
their planet and its nature to target their culture, their spiritual energy, and their native ecosystem with which they are deeply connected. Wookiees
are captured and enslaved, mostly to be taken off world, while mass destruction of major Wookiee settlements dismantled much of their civilization.
Wookiees still survived on Kashyyyk by fleeing "deeper into the jungle", a tactic which preserves enough of their civilization that the Wookiees are not
completely destroyed by the Imperial occupation. Nevertheless, by the end of the Empire their population and planet had been severely devastated.
The destruction of large areas of land and forest on Kashyyyk were the result of the pragmatic carelessness of Imperial resource concerns and of
the Trandoshans which the Empire insultingly invited to participate in the plundering of their neighbor planet, however the scale and intensity of this
program was a Sith design. Resource extraction without any care for the environment was basic Imperial practice, in part because it took the simple
joy of beauty from these worlds, destroyed the life which teemed with the Force, and replaced it with drearly, cold, and soulless artificial structures.
There was little Imperial development on Kashyyyk, and its mineral wealth was unremarkable, such that the efforts to access it on this world were
unlikely to be worth the effort considering the ease of obtaining them elsewhere. The program of environmental destruction and resource extraction
on Kashyyyk was therefore largely done as a method of destroying the world, and as a pretext for their 'security' operations against the Wookiees.

The imperialist goals of the leadership on Coruscant and the economic goals of the military-industrial complex require conflict and war to maintain their
control and to advance towards their aims, and will manufacture the need for militarism, or even just the appearance of a need, for the sake of that
purpose. This is how the Clone Wars came about in the first place, and now that the Empire's fascist government has openly united imperialist leaders
with military industrial leaders this will continue indefinitely and even be touted in society as desirable. Although the galaxy has just achieved relative
peace after more than three years of devastating war, Imperial leaders are eager to devote even greater resources to the goal of building and even larger
military. They are already discussing how the need for this is more important than rebuilding the interstellar economy, infrastructure on affected worlds,
or even providing minimal support to the veteran clones who fought for them. They are eager to discard the clones like the organic battle droids that they
are, and no longer care about them because they are no longer useful to the military project. The Imperial leaders justify this politically by pointing to
the destabilized security situation in the Rim, and the deteriorating state of the clone army which ages at an accelerated rate. These situations were both
directly created by the Empire as the means to advance its military program. If the Empire had not destroyed Kamino's clone factories, the clones aging
would not be a factor, and several years worth of future clones were clandestinely taken off of Kamino as part of some Imperial plan, and thus their
possible future availability is not known in the Senate or included in the public debate. The independent worlds in the Rim which are refusing to heed
Imperial authority are mostly minor planets of which there was no pressing need for the Empire to agitate so quickly. The Empire could have left these
worlds alone for the first years of its rule, and allow the economic and social force of their civilization to erode popular resistance to participating in
the galactic state. That 'catching more flies with honey strategy' is not only in contrast to the Sith and fascist goals of continual conflict, it also would not
provide the political traction necessary to increase the Imperial military. As a result, the Empire antagonized these worlds to raise the specter of a return
to wide-scale conflict, knowing that war-weariness and a desire for order would once again produce political support for the Emperor's security state.
The Empire's militaristic proponents are also eager for "a new conscripted military... comprised of the people, who fight for the people", as this will
serve to unite the sympathies of large segments of society with the military and the state, creating popular support for militarism and imperialism.

Sidious' methods for advancing his plans are unchanged from those he used before and during the Clone Wars, only now he has the advantage of there
being no Jedi Council around to fool, which had required more careful maneuvering. He continues to use allies for his purposes, not only intending
to discard them after their usefulness expires but to actually hasten their downfall to cover up his involvement and further advance his agenda in
other directions. Sidious' ability to see something of the future, combined with his intelligence and knowledge of history and politics, allows him to
turn every inevitable downside to one step of his plan into the means for advancing the next step, and in most cases he has this planned several
moves ahead, such that each action and its counter-response form an ever advancing chain reaction leading towards his designed future. These
events with Rampart and the Senate are themselves a development of this same process by which he has been manipulating the Senate and others
in the government for over a decade and a half. Rampart is eager to advance his own power through the vehicle of Palpatine's reformist aims, and
thus unwittingly does the bidding of the Sidious expecting to benefit along with the Emperor and the Empire. He is being set up to take the fall like
any of Sidious' allies, which is hastened so that his fall can be put to maximum advantage in a controlled situation. The defense bill is put forward by
Rampart so that when their ridiculous cover story is discredited, Palpatine's opponents in the Senate will see this as a means to defeat the measure.
The crux of this plan is that the disclosure of this information will ultimately 'prove' the need to pass this legislation and provide Sidious with the new
army he desires while disposing of the clones who have outlived their usefulness and are becoming more of a liability than an asset. Rampart is now
left with the choice of silently taking the fall or speaking out and blaming the Emperor and Tarkin, which would allow him to be charged with treason.
This does not mean that Rampart didn't actually have a plan to get the bill passed on his own, or that Sidious wanted their universally accepted cover
story to be discredited, however Sidious always plans for every contingency, and has the wisdom and vision to know his enemies are resourceful.
